About me...
Hello, I'm Emma-Kate
I'm a personal trainer, health coach, and yoga teacher who helps women in midlife get strong, feel balanced, and live bigger lives.

I work with women who want to build real strength but don't feel at home in traditional gym environments - women who value both challenge and restoration, who want to feel energized (not exhausted), and who sense there's more to life than what they're currently living.

Seeds was created as an alternative to the "push harder, no pain no gain" fitness culture.
From my private home studio in Liphook, I offer 1-on-1 strength training that integrates health coaching and restorative practices - because sustainable strength requires both challenge and recovery.

My Story
The Wake-Up Call
Before this work, I was like many of the women I now support: tired, disconnected from my body, and stuck in a life that felt smaller than I wanted it to be.
My background is in psychology - I spent years supporting children and families through emotional challenges. But after my own burnout, I realized I'd stopped prioritizing my own wellbeing. I'd gained weight, experienced joint pain, and lost confidence.

Finding Strength
I started with yoga and breathwork to feel grounded again. But it was strength training that truly changed everything.

I picked up a barbell for the first time at 46, and as I got physically stronger - eventually deadlifting double my bodyweight and competing in fitness competitions - something unexpected happened. The confidence I built in the gym started showing up everywhere else.

I hiked challenging terrain I never thought I could manage. I ran a half marathon. I launched my first retreat in the Lake District. I took professional risks I'd been too scared to take before.
Each time I proved to myself I could do something physically hard, my beliefs about what else I was capable of expanded.

What I Learned
Here's what I also learned: all challenge with no recovery isn't sustainable. Especially in midlife, when our bodies need more support, not less.

That's why my approach integrates both - strength training that challenges you AND restorative practices that help you recover.

Now, through Seeds, I help other women experience this same transformation - building physical strength AND inner resilience, so they can live bigger, bolder lives.
My Values
I'm deeply values-focused - both in my own life and in how I coach.
Kindness
I believe in treating ourselves with kindness, especially when things are hard. In my work, this means growth doesn't require harsh self-criticism.
Growth
I'm always learning, trying new things, and pushing my own edges. In sessions, this translates to believing you're always capable of more than you think.
Belonging
I want to create spaces where people feel genuinely welcome. In my studio, this means you feel seen, supported, and like you truly belong - exactly as you are.

I live what I teach.

I'm most energized when I'm moving, learning, and exploring. I still strength train regularly (current goal: maintaining my double bodyweight deadlift while staying injury-free). I practice yoga to balance my nervous system. I hike whenever I can, especially in the mountains.

I travel to experience different landscapes and cultures. I sign up for challenges that scare me a bit. I try new things - not to prove anything, but to stay curious, engaged, and alive.

For me, adventure is about having a mindset that's open to experience and willing to try. It's about saying yes even when you're not entirely sure you can do it, then discovering that you can.

And I bring that same spirit into my coaching: the belief that every woman has untapped strength, and that growth is always available when we combine courage with compassion (and proper programming)!
